1、 Overview

Antennas, as carriers for transmitting and receiving electromagnetic waves in wireless equipment, play an important role in engineering systems such as wireless communication, broadcasting, television, radar, navigation, electronic countermeasures, and remote sensing. ASA6030 Microwave (Antenna) Testing System (Antenna Measurement Training System)Provided a testing scheme for measuring antenna pattern, gain, polarization and other characteristics. The ASA6030 Microwave (Antenna) Testing System (Antenna Measurement Training System) consists of a transmitter, a receiver, a motor turntable, and a backend central processing system. ASA6030 Microwave (Antenna) Testing System (Antenna Measurement Training System) provides one 2.4G antenna for antenna pattern testing, and can also be used for customer designed antennas for verification measurement.

3、 Working principle and usage method

3.1 Working principle

As shown in the picture(1) ASA6030 Microwave (Antenna) Testing System (Antenna Measurement Training System) Block Diagram, the system consists of a transmitting unit, a receiving unit, a control and system computing unit.

Launch unit: FromA high-precision transmission system is composed of ASA1431X standard signal source, AS-DIrC-3G directional coupler, ASA437D microwave power meter, and transmitting antenna.

The ASA1431 signal source adopts PLL phase-locked loop technology, which has extremely high frequency stability and phase noise. Its signal output frequency range is 1MHz~3000MHz; A stable amplitude control system composed of an external AS-DIrC-3G directional coupler, ASA437D microwave power meter, and ASA1431 signal source can achieve more accurate and stable output power, with a power output range of -40dBm~+10dBm. The signal source itself also has high power output accuracy and extremely high stability. If cost factors are considered, directional couplers and power meters can also be omitted.

Receiving unit: Received by signal receiving antennaThe ASA3010 spectrum monitoring and local synchronization control system, motor turntable controller, and other components form a high-precision and high-sensitivity receiving system.

The ASA3010 Spectrum Monitoring&Local Synchronization Control System is a cost-effective device specially customized for the ASA6030 Microwave (Antenna) Testing System (Antenna Measurement Training System). It integrates a simple spectrum detection module and antenna steering and synchronization detection functions, adopts the principle of superheterodyne reception, and has a built-in 3-time frequency conversion method- The signal measurement range of 90dBm~+20dBm has a high receiving dynamic range and sensitivity, as well as frequency search function.

The motor turntable controller is used to rotate and control the direction of the receiving antenna, with a horizontal angle range ofThe pitch angle is 70 degrees from 0 to 350 degrees. The control system of the motor turntable has a linear angle calibration function and uses precision drive components, thus possessing extremely high angle accuracy.

Control and System Computing Unit:fromPC system or local ARM processor completes synchronous computation.

3.2. Instructions for use

1) Check the system connection, confirm that the antenna, power supply, data interface, etc. are all connected normally and reliably, and adjust the antenna direction;

2) Turn on the power supply of the transmitting and receiving units and turn on the power.

3) Inspection: ASA1431 signal source

Default operating frequency for startup2450MHz, transmission power of -10dBm, RF switch in off state;

4) Inspection: ASA3010 Spectrum Monitoring&Local Synchronization Control System

Default operating frequency for startup2450MHz, bandwidth 100MHz, received power level of+10dBm;

5) Set the output signal frequency of the signal source to the desired transmission frequency point, set the transmission power of the signal source to -30dBm to reduce radiation, and turn on the RF output switch;

6) Set the center frequency of the spectrum analyzer to the desired receiving frequency point, and set the receiving bandwidth to 10MHz. Find the peak power within the bandwidth, and then set the center frequency point to the frequency point corresponding to the peak power (the reason for doing this step is that there may be a certain frequency difference between the signal source and the spectrum analyzer due to the reference crystal oscillator, which can generally be ignored);

7) Set the scanning bandwidth of ASA3010 to 0Hz;

8) The control and system computing unit synchronously controls the angle of the antenna, and then feeds back the power corresponding to each angle measured by the spectrum analyzer to the control computing system, which is used to calculate and display the directional pattern of the antenna, recover the main lobe, side lobe and other information, and can also be used for antenna gain testing, antenna polarization testing, etc..
